MATERIALS SCIENTIST
~ Ph.D. LEVEL ~

Bridgestone Americas Center for Research and Technology is currently seeking a Materials Scientist for an open position at the Research Center in Akron, OH.   Researchers at this location are primarily dedicated to the development of new materials for tires and other applications, and are working cooperatively with scientists and engineers of our three major Technical Centers at Akron, Tokyo and Rome.

Qualified candidates are preferred to have a Ph. D. in Materials Science with undergraduate / graduate course work in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Physics.   The successful candidate will apply his / her skills to develop and optimize materials' concepts for current and new products.

The holder of this position should have received strong academic training, be creative, and have good problem-solving abilities. Solid verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills are also needed. The employee is expected to interact effectively with other research groups, departments, and laboratories within the Corporation.
