CHEMICAL PROCESS RESEARCH ENGINEER
~ Ph.D. LEVEL ~

Bridgestone Americas Center for Research and Technology is currently seeking a Chemical Process Research Engineer for an open position in Akron, OH.

Qualified candidates should have a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering. This position requires experience with design and hands-on operation of bench- and pilot-scale equipment, including demonstrated familiarity with multivariate data analysis. Some experience modeling flow of non-Newtonian systems in chemical processing equipment is preferred. The successful candidate will:

• Join a team of engineers and scientists to develop and optimize innovative polymer synthesis process technology.

• Conduct process-modeling efforts and participate in the innovative improvement of our company’s synthesis facilities and processes.

The holder of this position should be a creative individual with much initiative, must have received strong academic training, and have good problem-solving abilities. Solid verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills are also needed. The employee is expected to interact effectively with other researchers of the Center as well as associates in other parts of the Corporation in the US and abroad.
