CHEMICAL ENGINEER

Bridgestone Americas Center for Research and Technology is currently seeking a Chemical Process Engineer for an entry-level opening in Akron, OH.

Qualified candidates must have a B.S/M.S. in Chemical Engineering.  This position requires hands-on design, operation, and trouble-shooting of laboratory and pilot-scale equipment and familiarity with computers and related software.  The successful candidate will:

• Join a team of engineers and scientists to work on polymer synthesis scale up efforts.

• Be responsible for maintaining / updating the reactor-room process control system.

• Participate in the innovative improvement of our company’s synthesis facilities and processes.

The holder of this position should be a creative individual with much initiative, must have received strong academic training, and have good problem-solving abilities.  Solid verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills are also needed.  The employee is expected to interact effectively with other researchers of the Center as well as associates in other parts of the Corporation in the US and abroad.
